Mentoring Course for Individual Attention

This is Dattilio Studio’s flexible cost, schedule and program solution to your photo education needs. Can’t take a class because of your whacky schedule? Need more than a class devoted to one aspect of photography can give you? This may be the answer. Larry will work with you one-on-one to strengthen what you need most. Schedule one session per month, or one per week – whatever works for you.

Take a trial lesson ($75 per hour, 2 hour minimum) to see if this approach will work for you. Several packages are suggested, and Larry can walk you through each of them. (One example is 20 hours of instruction and coaching and 5 hours of email and telephone help for $750.)

Why should I consider a mentoring course?

  • You may feel learning from a mentor is a better fit for your style
  • You can’t make the scheduled classes of a regular course
  • You have a specific set of goals to reach in your learning not covered in the courses
  • You have an important project in mind and want a coach at your side through every step of the process.

Larry D’Attilio has been a mentor to many aspiring photographers for over 25 years. His knowledge is deep and covers most of photography from fine art projects to commercial studio work. He believes every student has a special talent that can be quickly honed to produce great photo output.

You can choose the material you want to learn, what dates and times you want to use and have control over your total cost. The best part is, after taking this course, you will have an international pro at your beck and call!

For example:

1. Plan a project theme, get the shots, edit and re-edit to select the best, refine a chosen shot to make it most compelling, create a perfectly sequenced portfolio and arrange to present it in a public setting. (To check a recent example of this mentoring, contact Bob Israel, rjiphotography@wi.rr.com or http://mydailywanderings.blogspot.com/ for his weblog, whose work is currently – January/February 2009 - being shown at Light Ideas Gallery, 207 E. Buffalo St, lower level, Third Ward in Milwaukee, 414-238-6888 open 12-5 Thursday, Friday, Saturday or by appt. Go to http://www.lightideasgallery.com/liexhibition090116.html.)

2. Become an expert at Photoshop/Lightroom and printing so you can take photographs to a higher level reflecting your original ideas. If you enjoy creating new concepts in the computer, this may be the emphasis for you.

3. Self-publish a Photo Essay book devoted to any subject you find compelling. These make wonderful keepsakes and gifts, and some students want to go further, learning promotion, sales and distribution of their work. It’s up to you, and the sky’s the limit.

4. Learn color calibration and produce perfect prints, every time! Let’s face it, this is a frustration for every aspiring photographer, but you will learn techniques and gain understanding that will make each print match your mental image.
