Montages

It has become popular for fine art photographers to use the computer's advantages to create images that some people think of as non realities or fantasies. The point is debatable since the camera never sees the way the human eye does and the brain does not record still images at hundreths of a second. Larry D'Attilio's montages explore the way the eye and brain remembers a scene and forms an emotional idea of its meanings.

The montages are made from more than one negative and they evolve slowly and naturally. The work started 8 years ago and continues to grow.

One of these works is a commisioned permanently installed work in the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts. The work is titles Midsummer Day Dream and is a fantasy related to the type of performing and visual art that is that facility's mission. It is a tri-tone image 42 H X 96 W in inches.
